The story of Seiko began in 1881, when a 21 year old entrepreneur, Kintaro Hattori, opened a shop selling and repairing watches and clocks in central Tokyo.

Today, after more than 130 years of innovation, Kintaro Hattori’s company is still dedicated to the perfection that the founder always strove to achieve.

NEW RELEASE- Seiko Prospex ‘Pogue’ SSC947

In 1969, Seiko introduced the world’s first automatic chronograph equipped with both a vertical clutch and column wheel, known as Seiko Speedmaster 6139 series. in the 70’s, one beloved Sppedtimer shot to stardom as the first automatic chronograph to to go to space when NASA astronaut Colonel William Pogue took it on a mission to “Skylab” the first US Space Station. He reported: ‘the self winding mechinism eorked fine in zero-G’. His new solar- powered design takes inspiration for the original star voyager with the iconic vivid yellow dial and bright red hands under curved sapphire crystal glass. It features signature Lumibrite on wide vintage- style indices along with recognisable blue and red tachymeter bezel.

The V192 solar chronograph calibre measures elapsed time, whilst the solar cell charges from both natural and artificial light. At full charge, the power reserve lasts for 6 months- more than enough time to travel to the space station and back.
